Duterte and Robredo will hold Separate Inauguration Ceremonies

Philippines - On June 30, Inauguration Ceremonies for the President-elect Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President-elect Leni Robredo are expected to be held apart.

Duterte's transition team head, Boyet Dy, revealed in his interview at ANC Philippines the decision of inauguration committee of separated ceremmonies.

Dy said, “But my impression is that I think part of the consideration given that the President-elect also wants a simple and low-key event. There may be considerations in terms of being able to accommodate as many guests as possible. But as I said, I think that's better directed to their camp to clarify,” 

Duterte to take oath of office in MalacaƱang 

Like the past interview, Duterte will have his oath at the palace, also insisted to have simple ceremony to cut out expenses.

He also added, after the oath he will deliver 5 minutes short speech. Guests will be serve finger foods since its near noontime.

"May finger food lang siguro because it's nearing noontime, but there will be no eating after. Before lang, tapos mag-oath ako. Then I will go nationwide on TV and then I will just spell out my governance in five minutes,” Duterte said.

However, Peter Lavina, transition spokesperson remarks that a 5 minute speech is another President's joke and will probably last 30 minutes speech.

Robredo to take oath by village captain from Camarines Sur

Meanwhile, Boyet Dy said, that the Vice President will honor her oath by the captain of Punta Tarawal Calabanga, known to be "smallest, poorest and farthest barangay in Camarines Sur.

Dy also mentioned that the oath-taking will be held in Metro Manila.
